Share your experience

If you wear niqab, or once did, your account is welcome here — including if you stopped, and including if your view of it changed.

What we would publish

Your own words about your own experience. Not an argument about whether niqab is obligatory — this site does not settle that, and a personal account is not evidence either way.

Accounts of difficulty are as welcome as accounts of conviction. A page carrying only one of those would not be a record of experience.

Your terms

  • Anonymous or pseudonymous by default. You do not need to give your real name, and we will not ask for it.
  • Withdrawable at any time. Ask and it comes down. You do not have to give a reason and you will not be asked for one.
  • Reviewed with you before publishing. You see the final text as it will appear.
  • Identifying detail removed by default. City, employer, mosque, family details — these combine to identify people, and we edit them out unless you ask otherwise.

If you are somewhere with a ban

Tell us. In France, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, and several Central Asian states, being identified as a niqab wearer can carry legal or professional consequences. We will handle your account accordingly, and we would rather publish less than expose you.

How to send it

Only for reviewing the text with you before it is published — never shown publicly.
In your own words. A few sentences at least, and no maximum.

What we will not do

Use your account to argue a position you did not take. Edit it to make it more supportive of niqab than you were. Pass your details to anyone. Keep it up after you have asked us to take it down.
